I’ve read somewhere that people with a clear conscience have the best chance of untroubled, deep sleep. I guess my conscience was clearer some 10-15 years ago when I had sleep episodes such as falling asleep leaning against a speaker at a club or walking down the street with my cousin (who was luckily holding my hand, thus preventing me from getting killed by traffic).
I have since lost the ability to fall asleep anywhere and under any conditions, though TV still awakens the deeply embedded Pavlov’s reflex - switch it on in the evening and I’m out like a light, sometimes as early as movie’s opening credits… :)
All my weird sleeping habits and experiences aside, my closest encounter with narcolepsy was watching Gus Van Sant’s “My Own Private Idaho”. Until we got Seven, that is. I swear to god, that cat can fall asleep anywhere and anytime in mere seconds, in the weirdest and most uncomfortable looking positions.
