Tell me why I don’t like… Sundays?
I used to identify with the good old Boomtown Rats song. However, since I moved to Israel Sundays have become my new Mondays and my start-of-the-week-theme-song, well, it needs a bit of adaptation
After Amit first went back to Israel, for a few Sunday mornings in a row I kept getting anxious texts “Is everything OK?”, “Why are you still offline?” which, if not answered, would be followed by a call of similar nature “Are you home sick today?”. And the answer was really simple every time. I was home in bed because it was, well, Sunday – why would I get up early on a Sunday???
I remember teasing Amit about how quickly he got back into the rhythm of Israeli Sun-Thu work weeks.
This afternoon, 2 months after moving to Israel, I was talking to my mum and asked if my brother was already back home from work or working late. Silence. I was already starting to think something was wrong when she simply replied: “Why in the world would he be at work today? It’s Sunday.”
I guess I’m now officially blending in

To my defense I only did it twice!
